We can start from any skill level. Which do you fit into?
Starting-From-Scratch
Your Current Level: You don't know anything about the guitar or how to play it.
Our Plan: We’ll start you with the guitar basics, like reading tab, playing chords, and strumming. You'll be playing and understanding your guitar after the first lesson!
Beginner
Your Current Level: You've spent a few months (or years) practicing basic stuff, but you’re still at a beginner level. If you’re learning from Youtube, then you’re probably very frustrated.
Our Plan: We’ll clean up your guitar basics and get you on the right track. You'll start learning songs, soloing with basic scales, and basic open & barre chords & stumming patterns.
Intermediate
Your Current Level: This is the level most guitarists label themselves. You know the basics and you've got a few songs that you're working on, but your playing still doesn't sound good, including clunky strumming & poor soloing skills. Your blues isn't very bluesy. You play a lot of wrong notes and you're often not sure about the song key.
Our Plan: These issues are common and easy to fix! We’ll get into rhythm & strumming, scales & soloing, extra chords, & techniques for better playing. You'll soon be on your way to an advanced level.
Advanced
Your Current Level: You know the notes on the fretboard & all basic chords, plus modes & basic scales. You can decently strum and comfortably play a handful of songs. You’ve got good technique, but, your soloing isn't that great and you still (accidentally) play wrong notes. You're slow figuring out relative keys-scales-chords. Your blues doesn’t sound authentic. You’re intimidated by jazz. You might be using the exact same strum pattern for every song. Basically, you're good, but your playing is stale and you’re in a rut.
Our Plan: Don’t worry - I’ll help you solve ALL of these issues! Whichever level you fit into, we'll fix and improve your guitar skills. I’ve helped guitarists of all levels to become their best guitar selves - for over 30 years. I’m 100% positive that I can do that for you too.
Are online guitar lessons as good as in-person lessons? Yes, online lessons are often better than in-person lessons. You avoid driving, family members & pets, and outside distractions. This allows us to focus completely on your guitar playing.
What video chat program will we use for our lessons? We'll use Google Meet. Google Meet is free. You don’t need to download, install, or register anything.
How do I (the student) receive the text lessons, like the tabs, songs, chords, etc.? I (Dan) have 100's of lesson PDFs all ready for you! I’ll email you the relevant lesson PDFs during our lessons. I'll also make you custom PDFs as-needed during our lessons.
How can we talk to each other in-between lessons, like with an important question or a scheduling issue? My students can text or call me anytime.
How does the payment work? The fee is due at the end of each lesson. I accept Zelle & Paypal payments.
How long is each lesson? Each lesson is one-hour long.
Will I be charged for canceled lessons? No, you won’t be charged for canceled lessons. (If you need to cancel, please give me reasonable notice.)
Where do you live, Dan? I live north of Atlanta, GA. My time zone is Eastern (EST). I have students all over the US.
